Outdoor fitness is the way forward

I have been exercising for 17 years plus. I’ve never seen it as chore, in fact I love it, always have, always will. It is a priority in my life, my health comes first. I used to be a gym junkie for many many years, hated running outside and would always choose the warmth and comfort of a gym environment to exercise in. That all changed when I took part in a 5 week super fitness challenge which involved me training outdoors in all weather conditions in many different terrains. Admittedly I was pushed to the max, but I was at my absolute peak in terms of fitness.

I now only train outside, the outdoors is a free gym waiting for you to explore and make the most of.

The gym made me obsess about my weight, and how I looked in all the mirrors.. The outdoors makes me feel good to be alive and invigorated.

I know which I prefer……….

Hertfordshire here I come

So having relocated to Herts, my mission is to get more people excited about exercise, eating healthier and embracing all life has to offer. I feel excited about the prospect of meeting new people to train, and get long term results with. Nothing comes for free and if you want to get fit, lose weight, change your lifestyle for the better then it is all going to be tough at the beginning, but the rewards are immense. Here’s to hopefully meeting you very soon.

Stay focused,

Carla

Physical activity is the way forward

I have always exercised throughout my whole life, I can’t imagine my life without it. Exercise to me is a daily need like brushing my teeth… I wouldn’t begin the day without it, and if I did then I would feel uncomfortable all day. I can’t understand the mentality of someone who doesn’t enjoy being active. Being outdoors, walking doesn’t cost anything and it clears your mind. According to an article in the paper yesterday british women are the fattest in Europe. What kind of example are we setting for our children?

I’m a firm believer that behaviour breeds behaviour, it’s a vicious circle that just keeps spinning around, a bit like a dog chasing it’s tail. Somewhere along the line this cycle needs to be broken.

I feel a very long run coming on……

I am a Tweeter….

That’s right, stop the press.. I am officially up to date with 2010!
I am tweeting or twittering, or whatever it’s called!
However, still not sure how to link it to my website….
watch this space for details!

What a difference a year makes…

Well, what a difference a year makes.
365 days in total.
I took part in the British Gas 1 mile London Swim yesterday. Last year I was petrified of swimming in open water, this year I breezed around comfortably, with no signs of panic attacks anywhere in sight.
It was a beautiful, hot day, great crowd and fantastic atmosphere. Super friendly event encouraging everyone, no matter what level to get outside, swim and be active…..
what better way could you spend Saturday morning?

Anything is possible… I have turned my life around in more ways than one within the last year. I have suffered the most, learn’t the most, achieved the most, done the most, laughed the most, cried the most ad also been the most courageous I have ever been in my entire life.

Result: A more balanced, grounded, strong unstoppable me.

I am tweeting….

Hold your horses folks, I am now bang up to date with modern technology by tweeting.

Happy Summer Days… although I am still trying to figure out how to link it to my website… stay posted!

A true warrior knows how to tame the cobra of FEAR

I read alot of books about spirituality and one of the topics that keeps coming up of late is the topic of Fear. We all have fears, normally which stem from childhood and are imprinted deep into our subconscious minds which almost seem impossible to shift…
We dream of living better lives, of becoming who we really are, or doing what we really want to do.. but fear often stops us dead in our tracks to pursue our “dream whatever”
Fear stops us living our dreams, so we accept our lot and complain that we didn’t get our lucky break because of whatever reason we choose.
We all have choice in life.
Everyone of us has fears…even highly successful people, but the difference is that they walk up to their fears and pursue their dream anyway..fear does not stop them and make them turn around and give up…… they keep going.
I have faced every single mental, emotional and physical FEAR within the last 2 years of my life, and yet it has been a time in my life where I have grown the most as a person.
I embrace fear and the uncertainty it brings….. it makes me feel alive and when I feel alive I realise this is what life is all about.

2010… the best is yet to come

Lots of exciting things are happening in my life at the moment…of which I will tell you more about as they gain momentum…. but let’s just say that change is a good thing and many changes have taken place in the last 6 months.. some pleasant and some not so pleasant, but all are leading me to where I am mean’t to be in my life right now.
